Prop 65 Warning for California Customers

If you’re a customer in California, you may get a Prop 65 warning slip with your order that says the product contains chemicals that have health risks. While you can be assured that Global Healing products are safe and manufactured to the highest possible quality, California law requires companies to include this notice to comply with Prop 65.

What Is Prop 65?

In 1986, California passed Proposition 65 — commonly referred to as Prop 65. Prop 65 is a right-to-know law that obligates companies to include warning messages with products that contain certain substances, including substances that naturally exist in the environment. You can view the list of substances on the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment website. The warning message is required even if the amount of the chemical in question is naturally occurring or well below the accepted safety threshold.

How Prop 65 Affects Our Products

Global Healing takes tremendous pride in the purity and safety of our products. We only use high-quality ingredients and have precise testing procedures and production standards. We use many herbs and other plants in our product formulations, and it’s normal for soil to contain trace amounts of lead and other naturally-occurring substances. As a result, the natural ingredients may contain exceptionally tiny amounts of lead or other naturally-occurring substances. This is not abnormal. The FDA continuously monitors food composition and reports that many healthy, natural, organically grown fruits and vegetables contain trace amounts of lead and other elements.

Prop 65 warnings are required by California to allow customers to make informed decisions about their health. Global Healing includes these notices to comply with Prop 65.
